sand dunes

Two grumpy old men sitting by the fire. They were reliving their glory days at the sand dunes. We took a trip out with the Farrers to watch Andy race. He took third place, so he felt like a man. Clayton's brother also took third place in the 4-wheeler race, which goes to show that you don't have to be sober to be a winner.

Melinda brought her kids out, too, and we tried to freeze them to death in the trailer. We had our new trailer out there, and we hadn't quite worked all the bugs out, like how to make the heater work. Luckily Cole got it working the next day, but Melinda had already gone home, probably to take her kids to the hospital to treat their hypothermia.

This is one grumpy boy, with his grumpy dog in the background.

And this one is Kory playing basketball with Caulder. Caulder was getting lots of slam dunks. He's a much better player than his uncle. Today he was watching NBA ball on TV with Kory and he told him, "I could play basketball with those guys." Apparently he's pretty hot stuff. I don't think he realizes yet that he has his mom's athletic ability. Poor boy.

I love all the new pictures! It's so good to see you're still alive! I was beginning to think you disappeared after Rylee's prom. The girls are missing you a lot. They say thanks for the kites and chalk and especially the treats! How did you know those are the exact treats they always try to grab on the way out of Walmart? Tell Caulder to keep up his best b-ball moves - June's coming for him and she HATES to lose!

I just had to leave a comment about what a fabulous post this is. Yaya, how do you do it? Truly moving... I read the elegant prose and wept.
